Simply put, this is one of the best books I’ve read on the subject of making smart choices and seeing them thru. Jeff Olson destroys the myth of the “over night success”, based on the principles of compound interest and making smart investments in your life. As stated above, “The Slight Edge” is a way of thinking. Most of us live thinking that the really big decisions are the only ones that matter, while failing to recognize that its the little daily decisions, the seemly unimportant or low impact decisions, that chart the course of future successes or failures.
Whether it is choices concerning health and fitness, relationships, career or our own personal development, its our daily choices, good or bad, that pay dividends in the future. Olson argues that, with simple daily disciplines, we can consistently experience success and happiness in our lives. To sum it up, we reap what we sow. It is such a simple principle, that most of us flip past it.
The good news is that it is never too late to take control of our lives and the daily decisions we make. Olson not only shows his readers how to think anew about our daily decisions, he puts forth usable strategies that are sustainable.
