Back in mid-April, I signed up for the 1000 Rep Challenge that was birthed out of the minds of those two crazy guys in the above picture. It officially started on, Monday, April 24th. As they put it, “It’s time to get strong.”
Over the course of eight weeks we will build our stamina and strength to complete 1,000 push-ups in one day. This is an exercise in discipline and consistent action over time to build character.
“If you train hard, you’ll not only be hard, you’ll be hard to beat.” Herschel Walker
Today is the beginning of week 4, which means 84 push-ups to be completed before bedtime. This challenge is more than just about push-ups, its about discipline, commitment and mental toughness. On the days that discipline and consistency take a backseat to the day. Commitment and mental toughness have to tow the line when the end of the day comes and you have a stack full of push-ups you have to complete. This challenge gives your self-discipline and consistency many opportunities to rise to the occasion.
Jeremy has been kind enough to provide WODs throughout each week to make things more interesting. On their own, they make for pretty good workouts. I will provide those WODs on a grouped weekly bases, for those that are interested.
